 The effects of wortmannin and genistein on phagocytosis of
IgG-opsonized sheep red blood cells (SRBC) in bone marrow-derived
macrophages. One hundred nanomolar wortmannin inhibited the closure of
phagosomes, but not actin filaments assembly nor phagocytic cup formation.
However, actin filaments assembly and phagocytic cup formation were
inhibited by 15 micromolar genistein. These results suggested that
PI3kinase might be involved in closure machinery of phagosomes, and
genistein might be involved in the signal transduction to actin
assembly.actin filaments assembly nor phagocytic cup formation.
