MTAフォームの続きです。供与者側の知的財産権を守るために、発表の最低30日前には相手方に情報を知らせる必要があります。特許出願などの用意のために、この30日に加えさらに最大30日まで投稿を遅らせる要請を受ける可能性もあります。

Any publication or other public disclosure, written or oral, concerning, relating to or derived from the MATERIALS or their use shall first be provided by RECIPIENT to UNMC  (to the attention of Dr. ***) for review no later than thirty days (30) prior to submission for publication or other disclosure and to ensure that INFORMATION of U*** is not disclosed.  If in the opinion of U***, any such publication describes a patentable joint invention or development, U*** shall request that RECIPIENT delay submission of such publication an additional thirty (30) days to allow for filing of appropriate patent application(s). 

30日もかかるんじゃ、とっても面倒でやってられない、などとおっしゃるあなたへ。これは、相手側が30日ないし60日以内にすべての手続きを進めてくださる、60日以上かかることはあり得ない、というお達しでもあります。これは、われわれ日本の大学の研究者にとってみれば、きわめて迅速な対応です。私の経験では特許出願までに３ヶ月から６ヶ月はかかってしまう日本の現状からみると、これほど素早い対応ができると自信を持って書類にサインできるのは、やっぱりアメリカのシステムが優れているからだと思います。このへんに関しては、いずれ詳しく書いてゆくつもりです。（準備中）

また、以下のように謝辞や共著へ加える必要があります。
RECIPIENT agrees to acknowledge U*** as the source of the U*** MATERIALS in all publications containing any data or information that discloses or relates in any way to RECIPIENT’S use of the MATERIALS, unless otherwise agreed to by U***.  RECIPIENT agrees to include, according to established standards for academic publications, all appropriate U*** scientists as co-authors on any publication containing such experimental results.

ところで、established standards for academic publications　に従うと共著者にはどの範囲まで含めるとよいのでしょうか。これも重要な問題ですので、いずれスタンダードな見解を紹介させていただきます。（準備中です）
